Here are some of the projects I am currently involved in:
The Dolce` Vita Band This is an original project in the "Smooth Jazz" genre. We are currently writing the record and have begun recording basic tracks. C.D. soon to follow. The band consists of myself on guitars John Ferraro, drums Rodrigo Lopez, keys, Gordon Rustvold, bass. Keep checking in here for more details. We will be posting some audio clips from the upcoming record. Bossa For The World This is a very interesting project that is really a dedication to Bossa Nova Music. Moreover a dedication to Antonio Carlos Jobim and his compositions and contributions to this art form. That in itself would clearly be special enough, but more for the sake of keeping this music style alive and having an opportunity to share it with a younger audience who may not be aware of it, we took some liberties. Harmonically the music remained the same but these renditions are new & fresh approaches to the groove which we believe you will find very appealing. So in short they are modern versions of beautifully written, timeless music. The CD (soon to be released) contains nine tracks. Four of which are Antonio Carlos Jobim compositions, plus two Louis Bonfi compositions and a John Coltrane piece. Also two original compositions in the same style. The project features myself and Rodrigo Lopez. The Jimmy Hopper Band As you are likely aware I have held the guitar chair for nearly five years in this band. A combination of original music and unique arrangements of everything from Andre Bocelli to Led Zepp tunes, Jimmy is a very talented musician who plays piano, guitar & sings ! In fact he is likely one of the best & most versatile singers you will ever hear. We have enjoyed our travels and continue to enjoy our shows as much as our audience.
